Day 8 – 9 June 2014

We arrived at Ketchikan, AK around 8 am to on/off load people and vehicles. Jim and I got off ferry to have breakfast and then pick up more coke for our daily refreshment(s). Finally got cell service as we pulled into port so I could call Liz and get these blog updates out. Lots of pictures I will load in follow-on posts. Beautiful ride up on ferry but been foggy, rainy and cool for last day. We hit open water soon and ride will get a bit rougher they tell us. We arrive in Whittier, AK to unload on 12th at 6 am.

We have officially arrived in Alaska albeit via ferry. Still this made sure we reached our destination, unlike AK1. The next phase of our trip is to unload, ride to Fairbanks ~400 miles then prep for dash to the Arctic Circle. Ride on Ferry is interesting but boring after you have explored the many decks. We have spent two nights and have two more to go. We will make two more stops along the way; Juneau and Yakutat.

The ride in Alaska appears it will be a lot cooler and wetter than our ride to Bellingham, WA. We expected this but a sunny ride would be nice.

I will post pictures next.
